WHO IS WAZO?
Born in Amqui, as nature entered its autumnal lethargy, this inquisitive spirit set about retracing the footsteps of his ancestors by cultivating his Amerindian and Acadian roots. He spent his childhood by the Gaspesian shores of Lake Humqui, in an environment where matter abounded in its raw state. Fire, Earth, Water and Air converged upon this child to shape his knowledge and guide the awakening of the artist that lay dormant within him.
Time went by…
Under this man’s still unshod foot, unfolds the grey sidewalk of the city. Highly sensitive to the elements of the "cementiferous" metropolis, he is transmitted a rather denaturalized code of influences by a Montreal most urbane.
Drawing on his past and his present, he handles his ideas skillfully: shaping them, texturing them. His very touch produces an alchemic effect : branch and fauna transmute, metals come alive and nature immortalizes itself under altered appearances.
Thus, laden with knowledge and experience, the artist takes flight to destinations where all amalgamation is possible. As does a bird, prodding one element then another, he uncovers his prime material. He builds his nest, depositing therein the fruit of his quest and daily labour.

DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY & ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE MAKE-UP
Wazo is an enterprise that concerns itself primarily with the creation and elaboration of jewelery and decorative objects. Using diverse metals and different stones, it specializes in the fabrication of one-of-a-kind pieces. The workshop is located in the municipality of Percé, in Gaspésie.
At first conceptualized from elements of the animal, vegetable and mineral worlds – the object as visualized by Martin Boucher Arsenault will then take shape after a series of unique know-how that respects the capacity, resistance and aesthetics of the raw materials. His original concepts come to life through the melding of his drawing aptitudes and his passion for jewelery-making.
In order to complee a work, Martin must demonstrate great patience and have a blind faith in his instincts. The harmonisation of his touching with his observation and emotions lies at the very source of his art.
